Commission D: No Effect of Budget Efficiency on Public ServiceShe appreciated the agency's step in upgrading its waste collection fleet with larger capacity vehicles that meet environmentally friendly standards. This upgrade is assessed to reduce public complaints about odors, leaks, and air pollution.
"Most of the fleet has been replaced with more modern vehicles. We also need to ensure that the maintenance also runs optimally," she added.
She continued that the budget efficiency applied by the government must still pay attention to the quality of public services.
"Efficiency is certainly important, but it shouldn't reduce the number of roadworthy vehicles. We want smart efficiency, which actually makes waste management more effective without incurring future additional costs," she continued.
Moreover, Commission D also encouraged a special allocation for minor maintenance on the waste transport fleet so that maintenance costs such as tire repairs would not be borne by the drivers.
"This is part of our efforts to build a sustainable work system that supports field officers," she stated.
